DIRECT ANSWER

The route is live. Complete product compliance and the solar-only scope are the details to check.

The legal change took effect on 27 August 2026. The government announcement and statutory instrument confirm a route for qualifying small solar devices in Great Britain.

The amendment depends on compliance with the final Interim Product Specification. It is not a green light for arbitrary microinverters, imported plug leads or battery systems.

For shoppers, the task is to check evidence for the exact complete UK device. Stock, a retailer listing and legal compliance are separate questions.
