What we collect
The update form stores your email, consent wording version and consent time. The contact form stores your name, email, subject, message and a reference. Your submissions are not displayed publicly.
To protect the forms and usage counters from spam and abuse, we temporarily keep short-lived counters linked to one-way hashes of connection addresses and submitted email addresses. The raw address is not stored in the rate-limit table, and expired counters are routinely removed.
The calculator, comparison choices and system finder answers are used in the current browser session. We do not send those answers, calculations or an email address to retailers.
Why we use it
We use update-list details with your consent to provide the updates you request. We use contact details to handle your enquiry. You can unsubscribe here or contact us about access, correction or deletion.
Providers and access
The site is hosted using ChatGPT Sites and Cloudflare infrastructure. Stored submissions are accessible to the site operator through its hosting account. Hosting providers process technical information needed to deliver and protect the service. Provider processing may take place outside the UK.
We use Resend to deliver contact-form notifications and confirmations, and to notify the operator of new update-list signups. Resend therefore processes the email address and, for a contact enquiry, the name, subject and message needed to deliver those emails. Update-list details remain stored by this site; they are not automatically added to a Resend marketing list. Resend may process information outside the UK; see Resend’s privacy policy.
Measurement and cookies
If you choose “Accept optional”, we load Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-MQ8VFC968R). It measures page views, navigation, scrolls, outbound links, file downloads and selected uses of our comparison, calculator and system-finder tools. It also counts successful contact-form and update-list submissions, but not the information entered into those forms. Google Analytics may process browser and device details, referring pages, approximate location and pseudonymous identifiers stored in first-party cookies. We do not send names, email addresses, contact-form contents, calculator inputs or system-finder answers to Google Analytics.
The Google AdSense loader for publisher ca-pub-5324784449468758 is included on each page so Google can verify the publisher and prepare advertising. Consent Mode sets advertising storage, advertising user data and ad personalisation to denied before the loader runs. If you choose “Accept optional”, advertising storage is granted, while advertising user data and ad personalisation remain disabled. AdSense may process technical request data and contextual information such as the page being viewed and broad location for non-personalised ad delivery.
We also keep aggregate daily counts of key tool and outbound-link actions in our own site database. Those counts do not include a visitor identifier or form values. Google Analytics and optional Google storage are used only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time through “Cookie settings”.
Google acts as an analytics provider and may process information outside the UK under its data-transfer arrangements. Read the details in our cookie policy and Google’s privacy policy. Hosting providers may maintain separate security and operational logs needed to deliver the site.
Keeping information
Update-list information is kept while subscribed; unsubscribing removes it from this site’s update list. Contact submissions are kept to handle enquiries and are available to the operator for deletion when no longer needed. Hosting backups and operational records may have different retention periods set by the provider.
Contact and complaints
Use our contact form and mention “privacy” for a data request. You can also raise a data protection concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
